I paint landscapes that evoke the effects of the passage of time on our man-made environments. I use isolated light sources in scenes void of human presence in order to create cityscapes that are desolate, eerie and emotionally charged.
My technique echoes the layers of time, human endeavor and decay that the paintings depict. Surfaces are multi-layered and often incorporate a series of erasures, leaving ghosts of color and texture. I’m fixated on light and perspective, and I strive to combine a photo-realist technique with textured brush-strokes and multi-media elements.
I sometimes indulge in a series of abstract works that also speak to build-up and decay
